This website is my personal portfolio. This policy explains what personal data is collected when you visit it or contact me, why, and what you can do about it. I've kept it short because the site collects very little.
Who is responsible for your data
Artyom Danielyan, based in the Republic of Armenia, is the controller of your personal data. For any privacy question or request, email danielyan.artyom98@gmail.com.
What I collect
When you use the contact form: your name, email address, subject and message — and, if you choose to add them, your Telegram handle and LinkedIn profile. I also record that you agreed to this policy, and when.
When you visit any page: the companies that host and protect this site automatically process technical data — your IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device information, and the pages you request. This is standard for every website and needed to deliver the page to you.
Bot protection, on every page: Vercel BotID (an invisible bot check — there's nothing to click) runs in your browser and processes signals such as your IP address and browser and device characteristics. When you send the contact form, its result is checked — only to tell people apart from bots.
Visitor statistics: Vercel Web Analytics counts page views — which pages are opened, the site you came from, your country, and your browser, operating system and device type — so I can see whether anyone visits the site and which pages are useful. It sets no cookies and doesn't store your IP address; to tell visits apart it uses an irreversible hash of the request that is discarded within 24 hours. Vercel Speed Insights measures how quickly pages load and respond on your device. I only see aggregated numbers, never an individual visitor.
What I don't collect: no advertising or tracking cookies, no tracking across other sites, no user accounts, no newsletters. The site does not profile you or make automated decisions about you.
Why I use it and on what legal basis
- To reply to your message and discuss possible work together — based on the steps you asked me to take before a possible contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and on your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form.
- To keep the site running and secure (including stopping spam and abuse) — based on my legitimate interest in operating a safe website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To understand, in aggregate, how many people visit the site, which pages they read and how fast the pages are — based on my legitimate interest in improving the site (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). The statistics are aggregated and set no cookies.
Only your name, email, subject and message are required: without them I can't reply. Everything else is optional.
Who receives it
I don't sell your data or share it for marketing. It is processed only by the services that make this site work:
- Vercel — hosts the website and the backend that receives the form, stores its images and downloadable files, runs the bot check (BotID) and provides the visitor statistics (Web Analytics, Speed Insights).
- Google (Gmail) — your message is delivered to, and stored in, my email inbox.
Some of these providers process data outside Armenia and the EU, mainly in the United States. They protect it with recognised safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
How long I keep it
Form submissions are not stored in a database on this site — they exist only as emails in my inbox.
- If we don't end up working together, I delete your messages 2 years after our last contact.
- If we do work together, I keep our correspondence for the duration of the work and 2 years after it ends, or longer if tax or accounting rules require it.
Technical logs are kept by Vercel under its own retention periods, typically from a few days to a few weeks. Visitor statistics are kept by Vercel only in aggregated form, which doesn't identify you.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- confirm whether I hold your data, and give you a copy;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- restrict or object to how I use it;
- send it to you in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time (this doesn't affect anything done before).
Email danielyan.artyom98@gmail.com — I'll reply within 30 days.
You can also complain to a data protection authority — in Armenia, the Personal Data Protection Agency of the Ministry of Justice; in the EU/EEA, the authority in your country.
Cookies
This site sets one cookie, NEXT_LOCALE, and only if you pick a language in the language switcher. It stores nothing but that choice (for example ru), so the site opens in your language on your next visit. It expires after a year, isn't used for tracking or advertising, and you can delete it in your browser at any time; the site then simply opens in English again. Vercel BotID may use strictly necessary technical data in your browser to check that you're not a bot; it isn't used for tracking or advertising. The visitor statistics (Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights) use no cookies at all.
Links to other sites
This site links to external services such as LinkedIn, GitHub, Telegram and live project demos. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave this site.
Children
This site isn't aimed at children under 16, and I don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if the site starts collecting something new — I'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
